Where does your self-worth come from?

Show Notes:
Host: Jim Hughes, Christian Life Coach
Our world tells us that our worth as a person is all about our performance and about others' opinions of us.
If we do the right things and don't do the wrong things, then we're valuable members of society.
- If you're a good performer and people think highly of you, then you'll judge your self-worth as high.
- If you fail in some aspect of life, however, your self esteem takes a beating.
The good news is that our performance has nothing to do with God loving us.
1 John 4:9-10: "God showed how much he loved us by sending his only Son into the world so that we might have eternal life through him. This is real love. It is not that we loved God, but that he loved us and sent his Son as a sacrifice to take away our sins."
Romans 5:8: "But God showed his great love for us by sending Christ to die for us while we were still sinners."
Why not give the unconditional acceptance and love of God and his son Jesus a chance to govern your self-worth?
